Our Services
Specialist subcontract installation across six core fire and security disciplines — all to British Standards, all by card-holding engineers.
Access Control
We install door access systems across commercial sites including readers, control panels, electric locks and associated hardware. Our engineers have hands-on experience across a range of enterprise access control platforms, making us a reliable choice for main contractors working on complex commercial projects.
All installations are carried out to BS EN 60839 and include full commissioning documentation suitable for handover under the Golden Thread requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022.
- Card and PIN readers — surface and flush mounted
- Electric locks, magnetic holds and strikes
- Access control panel installation and programming
- Door position monitoring and REX devices
- Integration with fire alarm door-release circuits
- Full commissioning and handover documentation
CCTV
Our engineers install IP and analogue CCTV systems on commercial sites — from initial cable installation through to camera fixing, NVR setup and full system commissioning. We work across a broad range of IP and analogue platforms and are comfortable in mixed-technology environments.
Installations are carried out to BS EN 62676. We produce commissioning records and configuration documentation suitable for client handover.
- IP and analogue camera installation and alignment
- IP camera configuration and commissioning
- NVR installation, configuration and storage calculation
- PoE switch installation and network integration
- Cabling — CAT6, coaxial and fibre tails
- Commissioning reports and as-installed drawings
Intruder Alarm Systems
We install intruder detection systems on commercial sites to BS EN 50131 — the British Standard that governs grade-rated security systems. Our engineers install detectors, panels, keypads, sounders and associated devices, and carry out full commissioning to the client's specification.
We work across most major panel manufacturers and produce commissioning documentation to support client handover and future maintenance requirements.
- PIR and dual-tech detector installation
- Control panel installation and programming
- Keypads, sounders and strobe installation
- Door and window contact installation
- Grade 2 and Grade 3 system installation
- Engineer commissioning codes and documentation
Fire Alarm Interfaces
Security systems on commercial sites must integrate correctly with the fire alarm infrastructure — door-hold releases, electronic locks and access control panels all require correctly installed fire alarm interfaces to comply with life safety requirements under BS 5839.
Our engineers install and commission fire alarm interfaces to ensure security systems respond correctly on alarm activation. We work closely with the fire alarm contractor and M&E team to coordinate interface point locations and confirm correct operation.
- Volt-free contact interfaces between fire and security systems
- Door-hold release integration with fire alarm panels
- Electronic lock fail-safe / fail-secure configuration
- AOVF (Ancillary Output Voltage-Free) circuit termination
- Coordination with fire alarm contractor for interface testing
- Commissioning records for O&M manuals
Data & Security Cabling
All electronic security systems depend on quality cabling. We install structured cabling in copper and fibre — including CAT5e, CAT6 and CAT6A data cables, fibre optic trunks, coaxial cable for CCTV, and security alarm cable — providing the foundation on which all other systems depend.
We work from engineering drawings to route, install and terminate cable infrastructure including cable containment, server room patching and field device tails. All cabling work is carried out to BS 7671 and relevant cabling standards.
- CAT5e, CAT6 and CAT6A copper data cabling
- Fibre optic cable — OM3/OM4 multimode and OS2 singlemode
- Coaxial cabling for CCTV infrastructure
- Cable tray, basket, conduit and trunking installation
- Patch panel and keystone terminations
- Cable identification, labelling and schedules
Service & Small Works
Beyond new installation, SSG provides reactive callouts, planned maintenance visits and minor works across all the security system types we install. Our engineers carry the tools and knowledge to fault-find quickly, keeping systems operational and clients informed.
We respond to service instructions from main contractors and facilities management teams, producing clear visit reports and remedial work recommendations on completion.
- Reactive fault-finding and remediation
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Minor additions and modifications to existing systems
- System re-commissioning after change of use or refurbishment
- Cable fault identification and rectification
- Visit reports and remedial recommendation documentation
